Mini Face & Neck Lift

What is involved?

The mini lift is performed under local anesthesia right in the office. It is painless and it takes about 90 minutes to perform. The down time is typically 0-2 days (some patients go to work the next day). Dr. Gupta’s mini facelift is a laser-assisted technique wherein a small U-shaped incision is hidden into the bottom part of the ear and is virtually invisible. To ensure longevity of at least 7-10 years, the superficial muscle complex or the SMAS, is plicated (tucked) and excess, loose skin is excised for a sculpted, defined look. This lift is ideal for tightening up the jowls and jawline and does not alter the patient’s natural look. For those who may have some extra fat, saggy skin and/or muscle banding in the chin and neck area, a neck lift or chin tuck (platysmaplasty) combined with laser liposculpture can adequately address these issues.

Am I a good candidate for a mini lift?

The best candidates for a mini lift are those who have early signs of sagging due to loss of elasticity of the facial/neck skin and musculature and desire a little “pick me up”. Patients with extensive sun damage or those with heavy skin, fat, and muscle sagging of the lower face and neck are not suitable candidates and should consider a deep plane or more aggressive type of face lift surgery. Smokers should cease or minimize smoking prior to considering any type of facelift procedure.
